Bio Bones (Diptych)

Acrylic and graphite on canvas / 48" x 72" (48" x 36" each)
To me, wishbones represent hope. Hope that you get the biggest part when snapping to make a wish. They're also bones, conjuring thoughts of biology, structure and life. Each one is unique. When linked together they look like backbones or the double helix of DNA. When painted upright they look like a hunched human figure. This work represents our struggles and hope to surpass the mental, emotional and physical hurdles, that our genetic code sets in front of us.
